360 Panorama Cloning on Sphere
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we address a novel problem of cloning a patch of the source spherical panoramic image to the target spherical panoramic image, which we call 360◦ panorama cloning. Considering the sphere geometry constraint embedded in spherical panoramic images, we develop a coordinate-based method that directly clones in the spherical domain. Our method neither differentiates the polar regions and equatorial regions, nor identifies the boundaries in the unrolled planar-formatted panorama. We discuss in depth two unique issues in panorama cloning, i.e. preserving the patch’s orientation, and handling the large-patch cloning (covering over 180◦ fieldof-view) which may suffer from discoloration artifacts. As experimental results demonstrate, our method is able to get visually pleasing cloning results and achieve real time cloning performance.

Snap Angle Prediction for 360$^{\circ}$ Panorama
360◦ panoramas are a rich medium, yet notoriously difficult to visualize in the 2D image plane. We explore how intelligent rotations of a spherical image may enable content-aware projection with fewer perceptible distortions. Whereas existing approaches assume the viewpoint is fixed, intuitively some viewing angles within the sphere preserve high-level objects better than others. To discover th...
متن کاملVR HMD Compatible Spherical Stereo Panorama by Single Camera with Regular Lens
A spherical stereo panorama is a pair of panoramic images with horizontal parallax, that both have a complete spherical projection covering 360◦ in azimuth and 180◦ in elevation. We present an analyze a new method to generate spherical stereo panorama by using one camera with regular lens, which are compatible for VR HMD display.
متن کاملAutomating the Construction of Dynamic and Multi-Resolution 360° Panorama for Natural Scenes with Moving Objects
A new approach is presented to automatically build a dynamic and multi-resolution 360° panorama (DMP) from image sequences taken by a hand-held camera. A multiresolution representation is built for the more interesting areas by means of camera zooming. The dynamic objects in the scene can be detected and represented separately. The DMP construction method is fast, robust and automatic, achievin...
متن کاملGenerating Near-Spherical Probabilistic Range Panoramas Using a Low-Cost, Single-Camera Catadioptric-Stereo Rig
We present a novel catadioptric-stereo rig consisting of a coaxially-aligned perspective camera and two spherical mirrors with distinct radii in a "folded" configuration. We recover a nearly-spherical dense depth panorama (360°x153°) by fusing depth-from-optical flow and stereo. We observe that for motion in a horizontal plane, optical flow and stereo generate nearly complementary distributions...
متن کاملHomography Optimization for Consistent Circular Panorama Generation
A 360◦ panorama is generated from images freely taken by a hand-held camera: images are pasted together and mapped onto a cylindrical surface. First, the lack of orientation information is overcome by invoking “oriented projective geometry”. Then, the inconsistencies arising from a 360◦ rotation of the viewing direction are resolved by optimizing all the homographies between images simultaneous...
